liminal

In Liminal, I explore the quiet balance between sky and earth — a space not fixed, but ever-shifting. Rooted in my Chinese heritage, I draw upon traditional lacquer techniques and invite water as a medium of transformation. Pigment drifts, gathers, and settles organically before being transferred onto canvas or object, capturing the intangible images I feel rather than those I see. Each work reflects a fleeting moment of tension and romance. Through pastel tones and minimal gestures, I embrace the softness of impermanence — painting emotional landscapes that live between stillness and movement. Whether on the flat surface of a canvas panel or flowing across the natural form of a wooden mushroom, these pieces inhabit the in-between: part nature, part memory, and part dream.
